I’m obsessed
with Tori Amos’ The Beekeeper (Special Limited Edition) CD. I know I’m a little late on this one, but I don’t have the chance to listen to every new CD that I’d like to these days. So this one has been on the shelf for quite some time. But now that I’m listening to it, I really love it. I particularly like “The Power of Orange Knickers” and “Jamaica Inn”. Ok - I’ll admit this: I’ve only gotten through about the first half of the album since I listen in the car and keep repeating the earlier songs. Personally, I always feel that I need to work on Tori when I first listen to her CDs. The meaning of her songs isn’t always immediately clear to me, so I end up working on the metaphors in a small number of songs for quite a while. It’s very satisfying when I get it somewhat figured out, though. Tori should do a few more tracks with some male voices. The voice of Damien Rice is an especially nice counterpoint to hers in “…Knickers”.
