Hey Arp:

We ditched our signal last May, and, after a week of orienting to "what now?" we haven't looked back. We must be fabulous propagandists promoting the great liberty of freedom of choice (at the library, at Rogers) over the limiting factor of Other People's Programming Choices, because our boys actually celebrated the countdown to signal end.

We're also The Office fans.

I feel his pain - I'm ALL about the science shows because they are SO much cooler than when we were kids. The library system seems to have a decent selection, and I'm not averse to adding DVDs to our collection. I'm awaiting the day when the BBC and PBS will start streaming their stuff online regularly (something the BBC has already talked about.)

Congratulations! I'm so impressed!

I have a love-hate relationship with our TV. I lean heavily toward getting rid of it but my husband really loves all the science programming on Discovery, The Science Channel and National Geographic and doesn't want to give those up. I watch almost nothing consistently but have been enjoying some mindless programming on VH-1 lately that I could definitely live without it.

Oh well... Maybe some day :)
