the first ‘normal’ week after Costa Rica
This week we got back to our normal lives, after Thanksgiving and M’s b-day bash last weekend. Normal is apparently a euphemism for busy. Busy working, cleaning, cooking, keeping up with bushels of laundry and toys all over the place. The vacation/scouting trip may be over, but things aren’t quite the same. I got a nice taste of the life I’d like to lead. Being in bitter cold and working excessively are not part of it.
Costa Rica is always in the back of my mind. Often smack in the front too, like when I think about the temperature here and the weather at Cahuita’s beautiful beach. Or the annaul cost of home heating vs not having to heat a house at all. Pretty much every time I think of something, Costa Rica butts in. I’m not trying to keep this from happening because it’s just inspiring. There’s lots to do to make a move possible - mainly Getting Rid of Stuff and Prepping the House for Sale. I’m wrapping up work early so we can spend some time gathering stuff for Goodwill. Here’s a couple of pictures of Costa Rica that make me look forward to going back.

It’s almost painful for me to look at those pictures, and then peer out the window and see the ice coating the branches after last night’s ice storm. How cruel this New York weather is.
I’d rather have a toe bitten off by a crab than lose one to frostbite.
