I am ready to move
Looks like the move is going to happen in January. I thought I could wait, but I can’t. Because… it’s already too cold. It went down to 50 last night and we’d left the windows open. The house was friggin’ cold in the morning. Sometime around 1pm I felt warm enough to put some shorts on. And now I just went around closing all the windows in the house and am sitting here in a fleece jacket. I despise cold. I thought I’d enjoy this last fall season but … I really can’t wait.

Not much longer, really.
Summer’s last blog post..Sept. 11
Let’s see: it’s 72 degrees in my house today here at 4,000′ above sea level. No heater, no ac’er. It’s almost always this temp. At the end of the rainy season, it’s colder because the sun hasn’t shown in so long - maybe in the mid-60’s. Otherwise, we live at perfect room temperature!
Before we moved here, we had the opposite problem: we lived at sea level and it was So Hot and Humid all the time. You ran from your ac’ed house to your ac’ed car to your ac’ed office. Then back. Otherwise, you were dripping wet all the time. No thank you.
Ok, I’m done bragging. Escazú is too cold for some people. Santa Ana is warmer, Ciudad Colon is a bit warmer still - I think it’s around 3,000′, maybe slightly under. See you soon!

Thanks. I really thought I’d be up for the Last Fall, but the reality of cold feet (in flip flops) and cold head (damn my shaved head) just leave me crabby. Or I’m just having a bad couple of days and I’ll adjust. I will say that moving prep has been on my mind a lot and that could be stressing me out. I think I’ll carve out some time today to do some culling and packing.
btw, loved the song you posted yesterday. I would’ve REALLY dug it back in the day when I was all into KMFDM and their Rip the system shizzy. Speaking of meaningful music, I really wish I’d seen Rage in the Machine at a small club back in the day (though it’s likely that I would’ve been happy to riot afterwards).
Sally: Yes, we’ve got something to really look forward to! I’ve been trying to impress upon my parents that they can pick whatever climate they want but they don’t seem to get it.
We’re kinda down with hot & humid tho - we LOVED Cahuita. If I could change one thing, it would just be having better fans at Alby Lodge (which they’re probably addressing as I heard they’re remodeling). Maybe it’s more hotter/humid where you were? All the stories I’ve heard made it sound really oppressive.
Costa Rica’s got your name written all over it.
Susan’s last blog post..This is what it’s like to live with Down Syndrome
But do I have Costa Rica written all over me?
(is that a dad joke?)
