a touch of snow

20 November 2008 5 views 2 Comments

It was flurrying when I awoke this morning, leaving a 1/4″ dusting by the time the sun rose.  I hate the frigid cold, but snow is nice.  If it’s gonna be cold, it should at least snow.  I’m hoping for lots of snow before we move as that will at least make the winter worthwhile.

We had a light dusting of snow a couple days ago, and though I generally hate snow it was really nice to see. I’ve got a feeling we in East TN might be in for a bit of a winter this year. This is the earliest I’ve seen snow here, though I keep hearing stories about winters of days gone by when it snowed a good bit more than I’ve grown accustomed to seeing.

The weather’s been strange – about half of October was around 60F. November so far has been frigid – been close to 20F for the last couple of nights.

I think things used to be a lot colder overall. The Hudson River south of us used to freeze up enough to let peeps walk from one side to another.
