Wow. Thank you for sharing this! Would it be okay if I directed some of my students to this post? (I teach prenatal classes.) We were talking about spontaneous vs directed pushing tonight, and I love the way you talk about what you were feeling. I also think it might be interesting for first timers to hear a woman musing about how her previous birth experiences influence her choices in subsequent births. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. My husband and I have no kids yet, are not even expecting, but researching the kind of birth experience we want to have.
