If you haven’t read John Taylor Gatto’s The 7-Lesson Schoolteacher, do so now. It’s available to read online at the link above.

Gatto is a former 3-time New York City Teacher of the Year.  If you are intrigued by the above link, go out and buy Dumbing Us Down. The 7-Lesson Schoolteacher is a chapter from that book.

I’ll check that link out, thanks. Congrats on the baby! I just saw the twitter below. Sounds like it went pretty well! I had mastitis and I am very wary of antibiotics except when absolutely necessary so I swallowed one whole garlic clove (can slice in half for easier swallowing) three times a day and that completely cleared the infection starting the first day.I had the whole red/hot/rashy thing going on. Baby didn’t seem to mind if the milk tasted like garlic. I think I took it for 2 or 3 days, plus I nursed from different angles which also helps. Have fun and enjoy your baby!

I meant to add that it works great for thrush too. Any infections, really. I have been using it for a tooth infection while waiting for a dentist to fill the hole. Amazing stuff.
