On the way to work the other day I heard a radio ad for a service that will decorate your lawn for Christmas and provide storage for your doodads until the following Christmas. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This isn&#8217;t quite a sign of the apocalypse, but another example of keeping up with the Joneses taken a bit too far.  On the way to work the other day I heard a radio ad for a service that will decorate your lawn for Christmas and provide storage for your doodads until the following Christmas.  I like Christmastime, even if many peeps just pretend to care about the rest of the world.  It&#8217;s a great time to teach our kids about giving and helping others.  The music is great and it&#8217;s nice to see decorations in houses.</p>
<p>Some houses really take it to an extreme, and it&#8217;s kinda fun to see a house and be <em>wowed</em> by Santa and hisreindeer on the roof with 14 elves on the lawn and 8 Rudolphs in various poses.  This service takes something that is, I imagine, a labor of love and turns it into a commodity.  I suppose I shouldn&#8217;t be surprised that everything can be transformed into a commodity these days, but it&#8217;s still a little sad.</p>
<p>Of course, if this really catches on, we can always start a website to out the fakers <img src='http://www.tinygrass.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':-P' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
